A) Short Term Promotion
 

I.   Short Term Goals for Scientific Mission      None for 2005

III. Short Term Cultural Mission Accomplishment Goals     

1)  Provide opportunities for intercultural contacts among academicians. disciplined investigators, 
 
IfESS members and others, interested in the social science issues, by organizing 
 and conducting:

a) membership meetings,   1 Annual General Membership Meeting
b) membership luncheons. 2 Quarterly Membership Luncheons

IV. Short Term Goals for Administrative Support Mission

1. Record, archive and publish IfESS history. Develop and maintain an effective organizational platform to provide stability and continuity in fulfilling the projected IfESS Vision and accomplishing the adopted IfESS Missions, by: 

a) Conducting critical annual reviews of the IfESS
(1) Vision Statement, 
(2) Mission Statement,
(3) Strategic, Intermediate and Annual Objectives,
(4) Strategic, Intermediate and Annual Goals,
(5) Satzung , i.e.,
     
• Constitution (Vereinsstatuten) and
      • By-laws (Vereinsgrundsäze),

b) Conduct an Annual General Membership Meeting provide IfESS Members
(1) with Protokoll of the AGM Meeting Proceedings,
(2) with Annual Financial Report

c) Annually review and revise (as needed) the list of
(1) Officers and Directors,
(2) Policy Statements (Verordnungen), 
(3) Operating Manual(s) (Vorschriften), and
(4) Operating Procedure Guidelines (Richtlinien).

2. Generate adequate financial resources to provide stability and  continuity for the fulfillment of the
If ESS Vision and the accomplishment of the If ESS Missions.

a) (Re)establish an If ESS Euro Giro-Kto.:
b) Maintain a Giro-Kto. account balance > 0,°° EU
c) Establish and maintain a Giro-Kto. account balance > 1-month operating expenditures.
d) Establish an If ESS Euro Tagesgeld-Kto.
e) Establish and maintain a Tagesgeld-Kto. account balance > 3-Mos. operating expenditures.
f)  Establish an If ESS Euro Termin-geld-Kto.
g) Establish and maintain a Termin-geld-Kto. account balance > 12-Mos. operating expenditures.

3. Develop and maintain an effective financial management platform, by: 

a) Preparing If ESS fiscal control budgets:

(1) Annual Capital Asset Purchases plan, 
(2) Annual Operating Budget [with Quarterly Revisions], including:

• Revenue-related Operating Expense Line Item Estimates,
• Operating Overhead Expense Line Item Estimates,
• Anticipated Extraordinary Expense Items,
• Contingency Reserve Contributions Requirements,
• Operating Revenue Forecasts,
• Anticipated Extraordinary Revenue Items,

(3) Annual Cash Flow Forecast
(4) Annual Cash Budget [with Monthy Revisions], showing:

• Beginning Cash Balance(s)
• Periodic Cash Receipts Forecasts
• Periodic Cash Disbursements Estimates
• Periodic Ending Cash Balances
• Maximum cash surplus balance [Potential cash reserve deposit(s)]

b) Preparing Annual financial Statements

c) Conducting an annual independent financial audit of the If ESS.

Develop and maintain an effective Managerial and Administrative staff. 
Acquire and maintain access to an adequate administrative office. 
Develop and maintain an effective Marketing and Public Relations staff. 
Provide administrative support policy guidance by organizing and conducting Directors Meetings:

a) If ESS Board of Directors meetings, 3 Quarterly Meetings

Disseminate information about knowledge enhancing social science research developments, by:

a) ePublishing an online If ESS newsletter with information relating to:

(1) New research findings

(2) Current  research projects

(3) Research project funding opportunities [for If ESS Investigators]

(4) Knowledge base deficit discoveries [for If ESS Investigators]

(5) Research projects funding opportunities [for If ESS Sponsors]

(6) Fellowship and scholarship opportunities  [for If ESS Student Members] .

b) Generating and issuing If ESS press releases.

c) Organizing and conducting If ESS press briefings.

II.  Intermediate Term Goals for Educaitonal Mission

 

III. Intermediate Term Goals for Cultural Mission

1. To offer active participation in the activities and policy development of the If ESS, according to 
membership category. 

2. To expand If ESS membership base,  by end EOY 2006.

3) Acquire and maintain access to an adequate operating location to provide stability and  continuity for the accomplishment of the If ESS Missions.

 

C)  Long Term Goals

 

I. Long Term Goals for Scientific Mission

1. Expand the social science knowledge base.

a) Develop an If ESS Catalog of Knowledge Resources®  for teaching the social sciences.

b) Identify gaps in  the social science knowledge base.

c) Solicit proposals from If ESS members and other interested persons for filling these knowledge gaps
through scientificresearch.

d) Generate funding to encourage such research.

2. Examine and improve the quality of social science thought.

a) Coordinate peer reviews of scientific research findings, by If ESS Investigators.

b) Solicit online comment on draft findings by If ESS members. 

3. Develop and offer methods-oriented training seminars for If ESS members to improve their
    ability to discover, gather, analyze, evaluate and express their social science thoughts.

4. Disseminate information about knowledge enhancing social science research developments, by:

3)  Present awards for excellence in various categories of:

a) social science research,

b) academic dissemination of social science research findings,

c) publication of social science research findings within the scientific community,

f)  curriculum development for courses in the social sciences , at the:

(1) Post-graduate level, 

(2) Graduate level,

(3) Undergraduate level.

g) teaching of the social sciences, at the:

(1) Post-graduate level,

(3) Undergraduate level,

4)  To disseminate social science knowledge.

a) Organize and conduct Lectures and Seminars for If ESS investigators to share their research 
findings among If ESS members.

b) Organize and conduct Lecture Events and Lecture Series Events for If ESS investigators to 
share their research findings among If ESS members and other interested persons.

c)  Construct and maintain an online iWeb site, cataloging available social science knowledge 
resources.

d) Publish research findings of If ESS investigators.

5)  Encourage quality improvement in social science textbooks and other teaching resources.

a) Develop If ESS Approved curricula for teaching the social sciences at the:

(1) Post-graduate level,

(2) Graduate level,

(3) Undergraduate level,

b) Issue endorsement of If ESS Approved textbooks for teaching the social sciences.

6)  Encourage IfESS  investigators to acquire the ability to continually improve their scientific research & comunicative skills, by:
